Network Monitoring Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Continuously analyse platform behaviour and give recommendation for improvements (system/infrastructure)
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
Interact with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Write and maintain custom scripts to lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Write and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.

Good knowledge of company network architecture and of all product processes in interaction with system platform
Good knowledge of Linux system administration, networking and troubleshooting
Good knowledge of shell and python scripting languages
Good knowledge on Nagios or Icinga2 monitoring tools
Familiar with High available web application system architecture (load balancing, redundancy, caching)
Experience in system and infrastructure management of production environment
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities (logs analysing, database querying)
Knowledge of PostgreSQL database manipulation and administration (backup, replication, troubleshooting, SQL, PL/SQL)
Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes (asset)
Knowledge of ELK stack (asset)
